No other neighborhood in New York City has a parks conservancy that serves an entire district. Working with both city and state agencies, North Brooklyn Parks Alliance (NBK Parks), is a unique public-private partnership that was created in 2003 by a strong community-driven force that advocated for more parks, better parks, and access to our waterfront.

Under the K Bridge Park Design

NBK Parks is very excited to be working on the design of a new 4.5 acre park for North Brooklyn. NY State DOT has generously offered space under the new Kosciuszko Bridge for a new park. In the summer of 2017 our organization held a community visioning meeting for this – imagining what types of activities could take place on the site. Based on the results of that session, NBK Parks was awarded a grant from GCEF (Greenpoint Community Environmental Benefits Fund) to execute a design and feasibility phase. Design and financial professionals have been hired and the work is in process. NBK Parks will be hosting two community sessions, in March and May of this year to present ideas and get community feedback. WATCH OUR SITE FOR DETAILS. If the project proves to be feasible – the design and documents from this phase will be used to secure construction funding.
