Empowering Volunteers
When we look closely at our parks, plazas, open streets, and waterfront, we don’t just see a place to play: we see opportunities to improve public health, climate resilience, and human connection. Our programming is designed to help neighbors to meet each other, explore a new hobby or career path, and build on the public space advocacy that is woven into the fabric of our community.
Garden Club is our horticultural volunteer program in Bushwick Inlet Park, Under the K Bridge Park, and McGolrick Park. Volunteers help with planting projects, invasive species removal, and general garden maintenance activities like raking and bulb planting. Sign up here.
Street Tree Care events focus on the stewardship of our critical urban infrastructure. We partner with our elected officials and community groups on community clean-ups, tree pruning, tree bed mulching, and building tree guards. See Upcoming Events.
Educational Programming, from walking tours to panel discussions, we produce events that provide immersion into topics related to sustainability, urbanism, horticulture, and biodiversity. See Upcoming Events.
Corporate Events, accompanied by a donation, can be organized for meaningful company engagement days. Inquire at info@nbkparks.org
